I had two mountain bikes and the Mongoose EFX was constantly in need of repairs as the brakes grabbed terribly and were never fixed by the Bicycle Garage so I put it out on the sidewalk in front of my house as a Goodwill donation. A thief in the early morning tried to steal it by pedaling it out of the area. The tires were flat and the thief made it only 50 yards before he jumped off the bike and took off running. He left the bike where it fell and came back later and put it in the back of his truck. It's only 3.5 miles from Quail Run to Coyote Hills via the Alameda Creek Trail and Coyote Hills makes for some serious and even dangerous mountain biking. There are dozens of steep trails and going down any steep trail can be wild.

The Alameda Creek Regional Trail is about a half mile from my house. The picture below this sign is about 10 miles upstream at the Niles Staging Area. I bike there often.

Quarry Lakes is a popular park for mountain biking and family picnics and is about 2 miles away from me. I used to ride around the lake but the thorns on the dirt trails constantly gave me flat tires even with the so-called "thorn resistant, heavy duty" inner tubes, so I ride mainly on black top and cement now.

The Alameda Creek Trail stretches from past Coyote Hills Regional Park into the Bay in the West and in the East ends up near Niles Boulevard.

Kerry Lawson had a crush on me and she was only a seventh grader, but a seventh grader who had been around. The Alameda Creek Trail ends about a mile into the bay but you can still ride along the bay on these dirt trails. Against my better judgement I rode there too quickly after a rain and spent the afternoon cleaning my MTB as there was mud on the frame, wheels, pedals/cranks, derailleur, chain and gears.
